Sidetracked Brewery in Downtown Morganton on September 11, 6-9PM.
During the 3-hour clay workshop, bar guests will have the unique opportunity to build, manipulate and carve their very own clay luminaries- these can range from mini tea light holders to a more intricately carved lantern.
Our local potters, Tiffany and Damien, will introduce you to the world of clay and give a guided instruction on creating a base, attaching pieces and exploring decoration styles. Projects can be for the table top or wall, or even made to be hung outside. Each person is given a large slab to play with, however, there is an option to choose from a variety of premade, wheelthrown bases as well. If chosen, you can still manipulate and decorate your base, you simply skip the building process and carve away! Luminaries are as much fun as they are beautiful, are a great gift for all ages and leave lots of room for your creativity to run wild. We cannot wait to see what you create!
This workshop is open to everyone and requires no previous experience.
Guests will be given all materials necessary (clay slab/wheelthrown base, tools, paint and templates) to immortalize ideas. Also included in the ticket price is both required firings and the clear glaze to finalize all clay piece(s). Prices listed below for online sale only. If bought onsite, each ticket is $35.
